Reading the metro today, there is an article about two British mothers who were turned away from a "foreign only" playgroup with the administrator saying "There are plenty of alternatives for British mothers in the town"

Surely then, this flies in the face of discrimination, especially when compared to the non gay B&B story from earlier in the week.

What the hell is this country coming to? We as the tax payer fund this playgroup and are the ones excluded from it? How does that work exactly?

Wow, so much anger when its pointed out that a non muslim is being discriminated against.

Do you pay council tax? Yes? Then you will be funding this council funded playgroup.
Does this fly contrary to the discrimination shown to the gay couple turned away from a B&B? I think so.

Seriously, what the hell are you two on about?

1. Where in this thread or the article in the paper did it mention Muslims? It hasn't. So, congrats for jumping on your soapbox spouting rubbish.

2. Why the sly digs and assumptions about me? I posted this to laugh and make fun of a discrimination law that discriminates. No hidden adgenda about anti Muslim/Semetic/whatever.

3. What problem do you have about threads that have Muslims mentioned in it anyway? Must we sweep everything under the carpet to protect your delicate sensibilities? Have you got such a big chip on your shoulder that you can't stand the sight of anything to do with Muslims, therefore it offends you when the word is mentioned?

For your information, I am a father and I encourage my child to play with other children from different backgrounds. That way he hopefully won't grow up to be an opinionated jerk with no real life experience who jumps on the bandwagon soapbox every time a contentious issue is raised.

Your OP was alarmist and inaccurate. It also missed out some very important points about exactly why the playgroup was set up as it was.

What's your problem?

My op was paraphrased and taking quotes from the actual article. How is that inaccurate?

The fact that the playgroup was set up to facilitate integration makes it all the more laughable really.
