Thats good to know thanks.....I was just a little worried from seeing others temps. :) Is there room for any overclocking with them temps then?

The Gigabyte Neon Cooler 775 a standard cooler is it not? there is no heat pipe tech in it, upgrading the cooler might be and option if my presumptions are correct. If I am wrong someone will put me right :)

Aren't these conroe chips supposed to run really cool with a very low tdp?

Yes, I was reading in the Heatwave thread that Intel specifies if your @roecpu is running hotter than 35°c your not running a standard setup.

Will see if I can find the post :)

I know, I just don't know what to do tbh, I went out and brought a digital thermometer today, right now it says my room is 30.7°C (feels a lot hotter tho) and atm my X6800 is idle @ 52°C and dual prime @ 84°C  :(,

what I don't get is that these are practicly the same temps I used to get on my old P4 550 (3.4) and that was rated @ 115 watts, the only difference was that I using an XP-120 with a 120x38mm Panaflo on that cpu, and on the X6800 I'm using the Scythe Miné, I still have the XP-120 and panflo, do you think it's worth giving it a shot, it's just a pain in the bum installing the XP-120 as you have to remove the mobo.

Could be worth a try I'm pretty sure running it that hot is bad. My AMD 3200+ is 89 watts and rated to 70°C, those new Intel's are supposed to be much lower wattage and therefore much lower heat output.

Yep sounds too high, its got a lower heat production as my p4 630, yet i have worse coolign but its a lot cooler as your x6800, try reseating the heatsink, add new as5 paste and make sure its properly touching the cpu, socket 775 can be a pain i forgot 2 of the clips one as a result my cpu was 80C becouse just half of it was actually touching the heatsink...
