Expect a 7 day wonder to be issued to you then. I got one when I reported damage done to my car to my local police station when it was parked in a street close to work a few years back. I knew who it was (the local binmen
) as it was the same colour paint as their lorries. 
It's both a joke and what someone might do if it really did happen.
However the OP lacks credibility. Without a photo of his damaged car I'm going to put this down as attention whoring.
What really swings it is his use of "other day". Which is what is used in jokes to imply recently but could actually mean any time. If it really did happen he would have said "On Sunday" or "This morning" or "Monday afternoon".
