Dishonored graphics

no not at all, it's done like that on purpose, it's very atmospheric and stylish, plus; every game looks rubbish up close even Crysis

the only problem with Dishonored is it's too short and there's no 2nd game out yet.

There are gfx accountable for the art style, but there are just sheer horrendous textures also. It's one of my favorite games in a long long time, don't get me wrong but there were glaringly obvious shortcuts taken too.

You're a moany shower, I thought it was one of the most graphically atmospheric games I've played in years. Anyone trying to stick high res texture packs on it has missed the point completely. It was like playing a really well drawn comic.

There were times it almost looked like an oil painting :)

Key point there.... at times :p

You're talking about something different than you think you are.

A high res texture pack would have made the game, there really is no excuse as for why they went with such low res textures.

They could have used higher resolution textures whilst retaining the same aesthetic. The problem is that they become blurry pixilated messes when you get close up, that is not an aesthetic.

That aside, it's still one of the best games I've played in a long time.

You can improve the texture by messing with the dishonoredengine.ini file and look for the TextureGroup section. Adjust the LOD size etc, I did this when I played and it really made the game look much better.

Can't remember the details probably google it. Best to backup your file first, even if things go wrong you can just delete the file and the game will automatically replace with default on start-up.

Some of you guys are getting confused between "artsy" and "massive pile of ass". Allow me to elaborate:

Artsy
Artsy
Artsy

Massive Pile of Ass
Massive Pile of Ass
Massive Pile of Ass

I wanted HR textures of the latter. They could have easily done this whilst keeping in theme with the oil based effect that the game does so very well.

you're not supposed to be staring at the walls are you, you're supposed to be gaming.

you'll see the same ``pile of Ass`` in Crysis as well.

No you won't see the same in Crysis, you will see low res textures at close range, but it won't be the same.

The issue is that some of the textures look fine close up, whilst others just look BAD.

For the amount of effort required to sort this problem, there isn't any excuse for it.

it's the best game there is, but way too short, so you'll deffo need the two DLCs

i cant think of a game that's better, only equal

It's an extremely good game, I don't find it too short at all either (I haven't completed it yet), but it depends on how you play it. I am constantly exploring to try and find everything without killing anyone whilst I'm playing.

What a ridiculous comment. I can't look at textures and read things on them such as newspapers clippings or signs and stuff? or even enjoy them when I'm looking at scenery? Also, you most likely won't find textures that bad in Crysis unless it's a glitch, and even if you do just remind yourself it came out 5 years before Dishonored did.

The game isn't even short, on average you're looking at about 12.5 hours to finish it. I've played through it twice with about 2 hours so far on the DLC and I've got just under 40 hours played.

I've played 36 hours of Dishonored, I haven't completed it yet, I've just finished the House of Pleasure/Golden Cat mission.

I've played quite a bit of the Dunwall City Trials too, I managed to get just under half a million on the Back Alley Brawl.

It's definitely the most fun game I've played in a while.
