Hi people,

Got a question for you lot as I know there are some knowledgable people on here when it comes to white goods.

Basically my dishwasher is failing somewhat when it comes to drying the items in it (nope, not the woman, the machine!). Now, do dishwashers use the one heating element to warm the water and then dry the items by using the same element to feed hot water around the machine? Or does it tend to be seperator elements for both? Some items dont come out very clean either.

Should it be easily repairable to swap the element? I have a built in Whirlpool Generation 2000+ (dont know the model number off the top of my head, need to have a proper look)

Cheers people. :)

I think it depends on the model. I'm fairly sure that mine uses residual heat from the wash cycle, and I think that's the more common method.

Is your rinse aid run out?
The rinse aid helps your stuff dry with the steam. if you have wet stuff, more rinseaid. Some models let you define the rinse aid dose, up the dose if it hasnt just run out.

Hmmm, ok, looks like the heating element has gone, as when I open it up no steam comes out of the machine. Luckily they can still be had all be it for about £40.

lol, yes that might work! It would be blooming expensive though.

Anyway, I have found a new element that fits my dishwasher....

Now has anyone had experience of replacing this style of element? I only know of the washing machine style elements which are basically a bar. Now I assuming this fits inline with the water supply?

Cheers
