Dishwasher making soft ticking noise below control panel

I have an integrated Beko DIS15010 (full size). It's in excellent condition but has just started to 'occasionally' make a soft ticking noise in the area below the control panel. When it makes the ticking noise i can't access control panel controls (i can see them - and no error codes). It's still illuminated with the program preset but the program/cycle won't start until the ticking subsides. If I leave it on the program and shut door the cycle will eventually start, when ticking stops, after a minute. Sometimes there isn't any ticking at all and all seems fine - so it's not a constant issue, yet. I've also noticed it usually ticks when i switch the power on but this stops within 10 seconds. (I should stress this problem has only started in the last couple of days. I noticed the on and off ticking while experimenting with hard reset)

I have so far not received any error codes and nothing is blocked (my wife swills the items before it goes in the dishwasher - so even the filter doesn't get dirty)

Things i gave tried/looked at:
  • Unplugging for an hour to reset
  • Checking for debris in base if dishwasher and water
  • Checked nozzles etc...
  • Tried doing a reset using the buttons - but doesn't seem to apply to my dishwasher
If there's any dishwasher technicians lurking i would appreciate any advice as I'm quite happy to replace any advised parts myself (my layman instincts thinks that i need to replace control panel/PCB - but I know nothing about dishwashers)

*Additional: another thing I've noticed is that when i switch it on via the control panel, the display doesn't illuminate until the clicking has stopped (which is less than 10 seconds) - and then it's ready to use.

No experience of your machine directly - but I've had results with a bosch version that had issues on the control panel. From memory some solder joints has failed (due to age). Might be worth checking these - but to me a soft clicking sounds like a relay

Thanks for the reply @CooK1E

Yes, it is a very similar sound to that of a relay - i suspect your correct.

Would a replacement control panel/PCB be the best educated guess here? (Remembering that the soft clicking is coming from the just below the control panel - so probably the PCB)
