Disk Boot Error On A New Build

Guys I really need some help here! I have a new a64 build here which refuses to work. Everytime its switched on it comes up with the infamous disk boot error, insert system disk and press enter. Im trying to get it to boot from the cd so i can install xp

Ive tried 2 diff hd's both of which were formatted prior to use, 2 diff optical drives, diff sticks of ram and a diff psu but its still saying the same thing. I get the horrible feeling the mobo may be borked as when i go into the bios it picks up everything and its set to boot from cd only but it just wont.

Any ideas are greatfully appreciated!

I had the same problem a while back.

I tryed 3 different hdd that work as im using them now
2 different cd-rom drives that work as im using them now

Sent the motherboard back to be tested and it turned out to be faulty so..

May be the same for you?

EDIT : Is my sig okay/within the rules?

Can you try a different CD/DVD drive?

CarlD - 4 lines of texts so looks all right with me.

Tetras - Ive tried 2 diff cd drives, the one that was purchased at the time of the build and one that came from my own system so i know it works
