For a while now I haven’t been able to complete a disk cleanup on disk C: :(
It just stops/freezes and won’t do anything else :(
However I can complete a full scandisk on disk D (second hard disk)
Any ideas of why this is happening or what i can do to resolve this problem cheers :)

untick the box 'compress old files'. unless you really are running out of disk space....... :p

Even if it is unticked it still goes through that phrase, although it doesn't actually do it.

I don't know how you can stop it doing that, but I can tell you something I think you may find useful...

click start > Run > cleanmgr /sageset:50

Tick the options you want then click OK, (it won't clean up after you do this, it will simply save those settings for the command you're going to type in next).

then again go to start > Run > cleanmgr /sage:50

And wahay, she cleans up all the rubbish.

Just leave it to do it's business, I'm sure if you left it long enough it won't hang.
