Help me OcUK, you're my only hope!

My Google skills are clearly failing me these days so I'm in need of help. My son and I have built up quite a collection of Star Wars Lego, it started off with buying the monthly magazine and getting the mini ships to buying the full sets from Toys r us whenever we went.
Previously he'd just demolish them all the time but now he's a little bit older he's starting to take pride in them, and loves displaying them on his table and shelves.

I'm going to order a couple of these for all his Lego figures but I'd like to get a display cabinet for his room for him to put the ships in and keep them safe but also allow easy access for him to get them out when he wants to play with them, but I'd be looking ideally for something smallish and perspex as I don't really like the idea of glass in his room. But no matter how much I try, I just can't find a modern looking one that would be suitable, they are either all old fashioned looking and wood, or made from glass and very big and heavy.
As I say, doesn't need to be huge as he doesn't have any of the massive sets yet (Star Destroyer, Millennium Falcon etc)

I know we have some Lego collectors on here so I'm hoping there are some good recommendations

Thanks :D

I’ve bought several cases from them and the acrylic is UV stable so the lego won’t go off colour

I did see that site but the very basic design and lack of reviews put me off but will check them out :) thanks

EDIT - Appears they don't make cases the sort of the size I'm looking for :(

How do you explain your cased children's toys to the females you hypothetically bring over?

Whilst I agree that Lego should be played with a pulled apart and made into something else, it is being made these days more for display purposes than years ago. So to sum up, have to tried dusting a Lego model? Put your best models under acrylic.

I use a DETOLF from IKEA to display my painted miniatures. Not too expensive, glass, and you can fit lights inside it as well:

It's quite thick glass, and I've banged it more than once without marking or breaking it. Plus you can fix it to the wall. It's very sturdy and I've no concerns about it's safety - and it has a fair amount of traffic bumping into it :D

What do you need to keep them safe from? What kind of threats are there in his room? Do I need to call someone?

:D

When he runs around swinging plastic light sabres and shooting nerf guns at any poor thing in sight, I'm often finding myself rebuilding the bloody things!

Lol I love that he's the threat! Sounds like massive amounts of fun though.
