Looking at getting a new display for my son to play his XBox 360 on.

He only needs something around the 19/20" size since he's sitting a metre or so away and we don't really want to go above £250.

Looking at some HD LCDs around the size and price point, they seem to use monitor panel native resolutions of 1440x900.

Given the supported outputs of the 360 via component, are pc resolutions okay or would it be better sticking the the standard 1366x768 tv panel resolution?

I.e. how would a component image display on a 1440x900 screen given the resolution available via component (or would I just get some letterboxing?)

Alternatively, a ws monitor. Any recommendations given my pricepoint that would support component input or would scale okay over a vga connection - and also have inbuilt speakers. He doesn't really want external speakers in addition.

Thanks all...

You can get 22" widescreen for around £200 with 1680*1050 resolution and then use the official MS VGA cable (avoid the 3rd party ones). Or the screen melchy linked to looks a good option if you want an analogue tuner and the extra inputs. 19" 1440*900 screens will also do the job (via VGA) and are seriously cheap these days.
