Sorry, can a Don please move this to general hardware?

I've had a tech problem this week where the VDU outputs a repeated pattern, killing the Windows session immediately. It does it in safe mode too. There is nothing in the Event Viewer at the time it happens and there are no minidumps to analyse.

Memtest passed ok.

PC Check also passed ok on memory, CPU (both cores), GPU, motherboard and the OS disk.

Today, it seems like the computer has kicked the bucket. This is the OS's splash screen shown repeated downwards.

Hard reset, OS shows post-crash boot options, text's shows as wrapped.

Started bootable CD version of Ubuntu, to see if OS is borked. Ubuntu was ok for about 5 minutes then got this picture.

Although the hardware tests all passed, I reckon it's still hardware. Is there anything else I can try? I fear I may be on my old hand-me-down Dell Inspiron 5100 until I can afford my new build :-(

Thanks anyway guys.

Guys, just to let you know that it was the graphics card in the end. I managed to get myself a 2nd hand Geforce 8500 and system uptime has been >1 hr no probs.

Thanks again.
