Keep getting this, mostly in GRID.

Any ideas what could be causing it? Its a real pain.
 
Surprised you never seen before.

Very infamous error (look on Nvidia forums or even Google), cant comment on XP, but its common in Vista and in many if not all games with certain drivers over others and more so if you OC.

Ive had it countless times and messed about to get certain drivers for certain games.

I had it more so in Crysis than any other game, esp with 175 Beta's.
 
I have got this error loads now but its only happened in the last 2 or 3 driver versions I have been using, any driver versions which dont have this as if this keep going on I might have to sell my card and move somewhere that dont have these errors, the game just freezes then black lines go accross my screen and I go to desktop, just a **** take :\.
 
Lucky you, as I said its more prone if you are OC'd but aint tied to OC'ing.

It is BS cause it does not really recover, you need reboot because it just repeats more frequently or actually sticks in 2D Mode Speeds (if you happen to have them lower like me thats bad).

Ive heard its the Cards, Ive heard its the drivers, I simply do not know and aint ran my card in XP for any length of time to see (about 8months ago was last time)

Leaked and beta drivers are known to be buggy, which are the only drivers we can get unfortuantely as Nvidia don't do em, they only do the cards, drivers are up to us. :(
 
I gonna go back to 169.25 drivers I think, these drivers are all garbage. NV want to get there fingers outa there ass and get some real drivers out!
 
Am I seeing the beginning of a problem in which will not stop untill I am forced back into my XP Partition?
 
If your saying you never had this before, and you have used many drivers inc 175 betas etc then it may be down to the actual cards as some claim.

A few peeps claimed they had it on their cards till they got it RMA'd and replacement never got same issue.

Im pretty sure it only happens in Vista so cant agree its the card solely to blame.

I would like the answer and fix same as 1000's of peeps.

i had this appear for the first time a few days ago when playing crysis. The only thing that i have updated in the lst few months is windows. Im running 64bit vista business with an 8800 gtx
 
m8 i had this this error loads with the hd2900xt s and had this error 1hr ago its just anoying now.also get the vista has changed to basic settings error often .so even with my rig nobody is safe from the invasion of the errors
 
Get this with CoD4 with my Sli 8800m GTX with anything newer than 165.55.

I was going to start a thread on this but I guess I don't need to now lol

If I had CoD4 I'd give it a try, yet to find anything to cause this error on my M1730 except for the stupid overclocking I did to try an get 30fps on the crysis bench
