Display driver stopped working

Well here are my specs of my pcthen problem below them:


Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Power supply: 400W
Memory: 8190MB RAM
Hard Drive: 300 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX OC2
Operating System:
Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080917-1612)
Motherboard: ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus
Computer Case: aspire somthing


Well i play call of duty 4 and it crashes somtimes it just close's the game and goes to desktop. Somtimes it crashes and brings a blue screen saying somthing about dumping files.

Had it with vista 32bit aswell so changed to 64bit and its still the same.

Common problem with Asus P5 series motherboards

Generally when this happens either:

GPU is running too hot
North Bridge is running too hot
User has an Asus P5 series motherboard

Its not exclusive to those motherboards but it seems by far the most common instances of this occuring are with users running vista plus this motherboard.

I never thought it could be my motherboard that was causing the issues, i'm thinking about a new one now
