not sure if this is a hardware or software issue..
Did my first build last night. I plugged it into my tv via hdmi initially and did the windows 8.1 install. All seems fine.
After that got the monitor out (Aoc Q2770pqu ) and tried it with that...It really doens't seem to like the 1440p. I get flickering horizontal black lines accross the screen and it blacks out completely for a bit on and off. It also flickers at bit at 1080p with hdmi when I open a folder or whatever. Just tried DVI that came with the monitor, no joy either. The only thing that works is hdmi into my 32inch Samsung tv at 1080p.
The build was 4690k with gigabyte z97x SLI, 2 x 8G ram. No dedicated GPU, I dont play on playing games as i know i'd struggle without GPU, the high res monitor was mainly for photo editing in lightroom.
does anyone have any thoughts on how I could get 1440p to work?

(just tried dvi cable that came with the aoc, joy there at all either.
