Another random question from work.
Is it possible to wirelessly transmit the output of a laptop to a normal tv?

One of the directors wants to display presentations etc on the TV, WHILST he is roaming round the room with the laptop (possibly windows tablet).

The TV has VGA, HDMI and ethernet but cannot see any easy way of utilising any of these without bulky converter boxes for wireless.
The TV is a 32" Samsung Series 5000. I assume an adhoc network connection wouldn't in any way work?!

Thanks
Andrew

Some laptops have an Intel Wireless Display option (http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/intel-wireless-display.html), I have it in my Dell L702x, though havent tried it out.

Edit: Looks like it works alongside the Boxee Box (http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/smart-tv/smart-tv-devices-with-intel-inside.html) which I have.

Alternatively, cant you just just have a laptop hooked up to the screen, and use another laptop/tablet to RDP/VNC into it so he can walk around with it?

Just get one of those little wireless clickers things that people use for presentations which enable you to change to the next slide etc?

Thanks. I will look at the Intel thing. I think I may have heard of that but hadn't really considered what it did.

I wish the pointer was an option but it's a bit more complicated than that, as there is web browsing being done and videos being played.

It is an alternative to using an iPad with an Apple TV. The problem we have is the Apple TV does not support Enterprise WPA which we use for our wireless, so were looking at trying to use a Windows tablet pc instead and some method of outputting the display wirelessly.
