Display port, 120hz.

Hi guys, just purchased a 120hz monitor, got it B grade so got a decent deal.

Now the main downfalls of the monitor is that it doesn't have dvi ports, just hdmi and display port, and hdmi doesn't support 120hz (Poor decision putting only these ports on the monitor tbh..)

So, I already own a DP to hdmi adapter, will this then allow 120hz through the cable or do I need a new DP cable specifically?

You'll need a DP to DP cable for 120Hz.

I think that monitor has some issues with the DP connection but if I remember correctly this affected AMD cards more than Nvidia.

Edit:

It seems to be more of a problem with Nvidia than AMD.

the 23" had problems as well as the 27" 750d?

Googling "S23A750d DisplayPort problem" would suggest so.

It's actually more of an Nvidia problem.
