Display port dp 1.2

I'm struggling to make a choice of either a benq xl2420t or a benq xl2411t. Apart from a massive price difference there don't seem to be much in them apart from different casing/connection types.

Apart from my pc, nothing else would ever be connected to the monitor..& pc will be connected via DVI dual link to make use of 2d 120hz.

The dearer model has a dp 1.2 port whereas the cheaper doesn't. I game mainly & I plan to watch the occasional bluray/bluray 3d (with nvidia glasses) via pc. (Was thinking of getting an internal bluray player)

Not up to scratch about this dp port so do I really need a monitor with this given the above?? (especially concerning watching bluray) tia..Andy.

if your going to use Dual Link DVI anyway then no you dont need the DP 1.2

the DP is mainly used when connecting multiple monitors

Now to ponder on going ahead & getting said 120hz benq over my 60hz Samsung T220 which already has a great pic. Ah the joys/obsessions/frustrations of the pc world

But that's another story/epic battle my mind's tormenting with.
