Hey guys so I just brought a 1440p 27" monitor been using hdmi but just changed it to display port as I found cheap one in black Friday in my local computer store.

anyways the screen keeps going black while gaming for a split second then fine again randomly happens

I have r9 390 overclocked
On windows 10
Latest drivers

if that helps, works fine on hdmi and dvi

Any help appreciated as I'm new to display port

Where did you get the display port cable from ? Was it one included with the monitor ?

Also have you tried changing the monitor display port setting from version 1.1 to 1.2 and the other way round too to as a test ?

Also specs of the monitor and graphics card you are using mate, will help us help you then.

Gpu is msi r9 390
Monitor is Acer g277hu 2650x1440p
Cable is from maplins £25

How do I change from 1.1 to 1.2 as I'm new to display port cables

I just checked the user manual for that monitor and it doesn't say you can change between 1.1 and 1.2.

I just realised its a 60hz monitor so it won't need 1.2 to work at that resolution and refresh rate.

Have you made sure it is set to 60hz ? and on the menu have you made sure to select Display Port and not have it on auto where it searches for a signal from all inputs ?

Also you may have a bad dispaly port cable or just a poor quality one. Didn't the monitor come with a display port cable in the box ? If so try the cable that came with it to rule out cables.

Yeah tried both cables and both go black
Have reinstalled drivers gone back to beta ones which worked fine with old monitor nothing helps

Hdmi is also doing it so I think monitor is problem gonna try my old one will report back
