Display port not working

I have bought the Viewsonic xg2700 and have connected the mini displayport to the monitor and the full size displayport to my computer but I am not getting a display.

Any ideas?

Do you have to change the setting to DP on the monitor? I know on my Dell that's what I have to do when I change between mini DP and full sized DP cables.

Yes I have tried that still not look.

I have got it working with HDMI will this be a big difference from using DP?

I have been doing some searching and have found that Nvidia cards have problems with DP version 1.2.

Anyone else had any issues?
