Very close to ordering my first ever manual build now finally :).
One last choice comes to mind when getting a Mobo.
In gaming terms, what are the differences between a display port and a hdmi when it comes to clarity/imaging/etc?
If there is a difference in terms of gaming performance/graphics I will edge for the gigabye mobo with a display port, if not I will go for the offer (107.99 with free cooler).
Any thoughts?

No difference what so ever. Since you're gaming you won't even be using the display outputs on the motherboard anyway, it will be the discrete GPU you'll be connecting the monitor to.

Both HDMI 1.4 and DP support 4k resolution, but HDMI goes 30Hz max AFAIK. HDMI 1.5/2.0 will probably use 50/60Hz for 4k res, but it's unconfirmed.

DP does support higher resolution, as above HDMI can do 4k @ 30hz. But I doubt you'll even be gaming on such a resolution... let alone a GPU with enough grunt to play games smoothly on that. On 1080p/1440p both DP and HDMI/DVI will have no quality difference.

To answer your first question on the motherboard though, just get the cheaper one that comes with a cooler, as I said before, you won't be using the display outputs on the motherboard, since that will use the inbuilt GPU instead of the graphics card.
