I have finally decided to go for the upgrade and get the below monitor:

Quick question before I hit the confirm button.
I will be using the monitor purely for gaming in 2D as I want to take advantage of the 120hz rate, am I right in thinking that to get the TRUE 120hz I need to use the display port conenction?
I have also read about dual link but not too sure what is menat by that???
If so then my next question is, my GPU is a Sapphire 6950 which has been soft modded to 6970 shaders ect but it only has mini displayport connections - will I have to use an adapter/can you get them and if so will it effect the 120hz side of things?
