Displaying a pdf document in a div

Is there anyway when a link is clicked to open a pdf document inside a div?

for example. if i were to have my cv online, if a user clicked the link to the cv, instead of opening the pdf document in an adobe reader window is there anyway to open it into the body div?

I'm pretty sure you can't open a pdf document inline (as far as I know - someone could prove me wrong!) - I think that the only solution would be an iframe but those are ugly and probably not the best way to go about it.

how comes you don't just code the document in html and have the option to download it in a pdf?
