Displaylink shenanigans

I have an Asus MB168B+ USB3 screen for my ITX machine.

I've plugged it in to my main rig (sig) usb3 ports, and happily played games in 1080p, as the Displaylink software still uses the GPUs to do all the graphical processing, and then just formats the data in to a way to be sent over usb3.

When hooked up to the APU of my 6400k, it obviously performed way worse.

So I got a 7750 to put in the ITX machine, disabled the APU in the BIOS, but still seem to get poor performance.

I've hooked the 7750 up to my TV, and it plays 1080p fine and smooth, but when over the USB3 screen it runs poorly.

I'm not that clued up on Displaylink, but I'm guess it is still using my APU for processing for it's software, but I can't figure it out. I've disabled the APU in the BIOS, what else can I do?

Should I completely uninstall AMD and displaylink drivers, double check that the APU is disabled, then reinstall and hope that it only picks up my gpu?

Any help would be appreciated.
