DisplayPort Confused??

Hi,

need a cable that goes from dvi to displayport 1.4 but when i look all i find is

dvi to displayport 1.1

and

dvi to displayport 1.2

is there anything different or is it just a gimmick???

DP 1.4 is completely unnecessary for such a converter, DVI doesn't even have the bandwidth to saturate DP 1.1.

ok, but can i still plug in a displayport 1.1 connector into the back of a graphics card with a 1.4 slot?

Yes, DisplayPort is fully backwards compatible.
