Hi I have recently purchased a used monitor a Dell U2312HM as a second monitor hoping to extend (not mirror) my display onto that second monitor it has a displayport adapter also.
Having connected it via displayport cable to my 4060ti displayport there was no signal and the monitor only showed a message that it would go into power save mode. I used a second displayport cable to see if that was the issue but not unfortunately. The GPU (4060ti) has 3 DP ports and only one HDMI which works well with no issues, don't really want to have to purchase a splitter with extend capacity hoping to sort this issue without doing that. My main monitor is an MSI pro MP341C. TIA

Assume you have changed the inputs manually on the Dell monitor to DP

well its probably faulty... i mean its nearly 15 years old.. can you try another PC? or GPU.. another option is a DP to DVI cable

Yeah I thought that but it does the same using my new MSI weirdly that works initially but when it posts to Windows shows no signal the same... Both monitors work fine on HDMI but with only one port on the 4060ti and 3 display ports that's an issue for multiple monitors. I could try a DP to DVI adapter as you suggest might have to try that.
