Currently have my u2711 hooked up to DisplayPort, as the cable was easier to install lol, but wondering if notice any difference by using DVI?

Nope, no difference both digital signals. Display Port has much higher bandwidth though so is suited for very high resolutions on 30"+ monitors.
Cool thought as much but one of those things, though seem to find if I turn the monitor on my windows have moved to the top left, almost as if the res was smaller when turned off, I know that sounds crazy
Windows 7 does seem to act a little weird with displayport.. mine actually does 'wake up' in some odd low res mode sometimes, turning it off/on it fixes itself. Never had the problem with DVI.
Also getting the "device connected" sound using displayport when the monitor wakes up so there seems to be more going on. Picture quality is the same though as was already mentioned.
