Could someone please recommend a 2m 19 pin displayport cable to work with:

Samsung U32E850R 4k 32" 3840x2160 PLS FREESYNC Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black
MO-217-SA

&

Asus Radeon Fury X 4096MB HBM PCI-Express Graphics Card (AX R9 FURY X 4GBD5-3DH)
GX-375-AS

I was looking at the ones on OCUK, but you see, they do not specify if they are 19 pin or not.

The 20 pin cables can break your computer hardware so I wanted clarification.

60+Hz 4K and/or 120+Hz can be a bit picky about cable quality on longer lengths even over display port - somewhat depends on the strength of the "drive" from the GPU - usually only affects cables over 2m though so the one linked above should be ok but off some laptops and an older media PC I had to use a good quality 1.8m cable to ensure proper 4K operation (this could also affect some of AMD's 290 cards but IIRC the Fury/X are a bit more robust in that regard).

There is no confusion.

Let me give you some background. I purchased some hardware for my latest build and once I got everything together, the system seemed to be fine. All except the second FuryX card did not seem to be recognized by the MB, plus my system kept failing and rebooting intermittently.

It took me over two months of trouble shooting to realise that when my PSU mains was unplugged and off, but the montior cable mains was plugged in and on with the Displayport cable plugged in, that a live current was running from the monitor, through the VGI card, through the PCI port, through the MB and into my PSU, lighting up LEDS on the MB and PSU.

I suspect that this is what has subsequently shorted out my MB, which I have now had to RMA.

I am looking for a Displayport cable which is not going to damage my system again.

Thanks for the explanation as I hadn't come across that before.

Not sure where you bought your previous cable from, but I wouldn't even be giving it a second thought. Whilst it may have been a big issue around the dates those posts are mentioned (mid 2012 through to 2014), I would think that any noncompliant cables have long since been revised (as long as you aren't buying e.g. from ebay)

Personally I would be happy to buy OcUK's cables, and if you want to double check, post in the Customer Service forum, or give them a ring and I'm sure they will be able to confirm one way or another.

I'm currently using the DP > Mini DP provided by Samsung in the box and Freesync seems to be working fine.

I do have an issue where after my monitor goes to sleep and I try and wake it up, it does not always come back to my desktop, but the screen stays blank and the little floating message that says "no connection detected" is displayed.

Unplugging/plugging cable sometimes fixes, or just a reset, but it is quite annoying. Otherwise everything seems fine.

Not quite 2m but the only Dp i've seen that actually states 19 pin. No competitor links. There is also a 3m version.

*Disclaimer. No, i've not tried either cable.
