Displayport to HDMI adapter ok?

I have a 1070... My HDMI on my card is used for Vive only.

I would want to run a 12m HDMI cable from DP output to my projector for 4k 60hz gaming.

Will any adapter do? Or do I need a certain type?

I doubt it will work, 12m is too far for a 4k/60hz signal that's already been converted from DP

I used to have a DVI cable that was 10 metres, worked fine.

Not really relevant, DVI can't even do 4k.

The Bandwidth is the issue, 18Gbps over a 12 meter cable.

For 4K 60Hz you'd need an active powered adapter and at that distance some kind of active repeater or HDMI-over-Ethernet bridge (not even sure they do HDMI2.0).
