Displayport to HDMI adapter

I've after some recommendations for a displayport to HDMI adapter. I use my 4k TV as my monitor using the only HMDI port on my graphics card (Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 gaming G8), but have just bought an Oculus Rift which requires an HDMI port. Are there any adapters that that would allow me to use the Rift and still use my 4k TV?

Thanks

I've used DP to DVI adapters before but they tend to only work in one direction - have you checked the adapter you tried is designed to be used the way round you need it?

They work passive DP to HDMI but only powered (and expensive) HDMI to DP. If the HDMI-in is on the TV and the DP-out is on the gfx card then any cheap passive lead should work.

Does the gfx card have dvi-i? DVI to HDMI leads are usually inexpensive.

Thanks for your replies guys

I'll double checked that the adapter is the correct direction I need, the description said DP to HDMI.

Currently I have the TV on a cheap DVI to HDMI, and the Rift on the HDMI. I'm wanting to put the TV back onto the HDMI and have the Rift running off either the dual link DVI-D or a displayport

Unfortunately I've seem a few adaptors get it back to front in their description so you're not 100% safe whatever you do :( makes it tough. Can't think of how you can avoid problems tho if the providers are muppets :(
