Displayport to HDMI Not Working

Hi,

I have an old Samsung 32" LCD 1080p TV that I was going to use with my MBP to watch film on using a mini displayport to HDMI cable.

When I first used the cable it worked fine, then I thought I would test a film so fired up youtube and it stop working and the TV said 'mode not supported'. I've tried to fix it and read a few thread but noting seems to work, at best I get a couple of flickers when I play with the display settings.

Any ideas?

How much did you spend on the HDMI cable? Tried 720p?

Hi, they were cheap. Is it the tv or my laptop that'd need changing to 720p?

So more than £20 or so?

Take a look in the 'Displays' pane within System Preferences on your Mac. You'll be able to set 1080p/720p or a load of other resolutions for your TV.
