Hi all. Not sure if this should be in the Monitor or Graphics category so I plumped the general section.
I have a Samsung S27B970D and happily using with DVI but I wanted to remove some clutter so I thought if I got a DisplayPort cable I could use the integrated speakers - just for general use as I have the system hooked to AV Unit/5.1 speaker system.
I can't use the supplied DP cable as it is regular DP at either end and my 7970 only has MiniDP out so I bought a seemingly compatible MiniDP to DP cable off an auction site.
Problem basically is i can't get a picture. I have a second display and I can route around and see that the Samsung is detected and the USB passthrough is working ok but the screen is acting like the PC is asleep.
Is it literally a case that I have to use the supplied cable? I have had Samsung monitors before that have been picky about using the supplied DVI cable before.
