DisplayPort daisy chain

I heard that the displayports on the 6800 series can daisy chain monitors, 3 per connection.

Does that mean from 2x dvi, 1x hdmi, 2x displayport you can run a total of 9 monitors?

Looks like the 6800 series can support up to a maximum of 6 screens - using a variety of connection techniques

Seems it can do max of 4 monitors at 1920x1080 but 6 with lower resolutions. Also the daisy chain needs the monitors to have the displayports in and out - else you can use a hub or splitter to use dvi/hdmi/vga monitors
