Displays not working after purchasing Acer x34

Well, I got my new monitor and plugged it in no output the current monitor was still working, so rebooted PC and then i got no display infact no bios post display. The bios was reporting a b6 which according to Asus was no VGA.

After trying everything including going back to my old setup nothing worked. Reset my bios nothing. I then took the top card out of my loop (pain) and then booted nothing. Put the top card back in loop and then suddenly the new monitor was working went into windows all good. Did some tests lovely only thing was the other monitor 27inch asus was not working. Turned off PC plugged in the Asus using hdmi (acer is using display port) nothing b6 error again. Called it a night and went to bed early morning now at work trying to plan my next step.

I am running a 6 core intel 5820k with 2 980ti HOF all in a custom loop.

Any ideas before i try again tonight was planning to try to get the Acer working again, before trying to get the asus working with display port this time.

Are you using the DP cable that came with the monitor?

Wiggle your cables. Sounds ludicrous but I had a similar issue (with TWO monitors) and I had to take one out, wiggle it around until it picked up a signal then add the second after windows had booted up. It only happened once but it **** me up for like.. a day... I'd literally just put my vega under water so I was worried I'd bricked it as I was getting no display on either screen, drained the loop, took the GPU plate off, checked for any damage, put it back on, filled the loop back up, still nothing, was about to drain the loop again but decided to try just one monitor, nothing ... turned out to be wiggling cables fixed it ... **** sake
