Dissapearing HDD

Hi All,

I put together a new system a few weeks ago and it is fantastic. However, on occasions, when it comes out of hibernation the secondary HDD has dissapeared - not showing up in Windows Explorer, no sign of it in Disk Management, notghing in Event Viewer, nothing!

Only way that I can seem to get it back is by re-booting.

System is running Windows 7 Pro 64 with Intel SSD as the main drive and a Samsung F3 1TB as the secondary (the one that dissapears).

Has anyone come across this before?

Thanks!

Go into your power options and look under advanced settings. Make sure where it says 'Turn off harddisk after..' is set to 'Never'.

Thanks. Won't that stop it going into hibernation though? I want it hibernate but have the disk return when the PC is pulled from hibernation.

Im not sure what other options you have as im in work at the moment and using XP but the only explanation I can think of for your issue is that it's a power management / power saving setting of some sort so that's where I would start.
