Dissapointed with the iPhone 5

Andrew Moore, didnt buy the phone, he had it on a contract renweal. Does that count?

No.. I bought it out right as it worked out cheaper by a good £500odd. Sell the 4S, leave me with my contract paid for up until April next year with credit. Then I can move to a cheap sim only deal.

IPhone tarrifs are rubbish from all networks at the moment. Considering the phone is the same price as the 4S was I dont see how the same deals from a 12month phone are now subject to 18 month and an 18 month contract subject to 24months... it means 6 months longer with the handset at an extra outlay of about £300 + no warranty for the handset.

Apple and the networks can go choke of something girthy if they think I am going to play that game.

So yes, I paid for it. No free upgrade this time round.

No need to - as far as I know, Apple have a 14 day no-questions returns guarantee. Just go in and say I fancy the white one and they should swap it over no problem :p

From o2, apple ran out :P

But its still an apple issue as the quality doesnt live up to the price. Not fit for purpose.

Do the scratches affect the phones performance? What did u buy the phone for?

Are you one of those people who buy something solely to sell at a later date and live in fear of the tiniest scratch taking of that valuable poundidge???

Power that thing up, hammer it into the ground and treat it like you stole it, just ffs enjoy it!!

My Mrs dropped my old 3gs in the bath, i rescued it and continued to abuse it.... she now has my 4 and i upgraded to the 4S. The 3GS has finally given up and i buried it with a hammer blow to the screen to let it rest. :D

Next feb ill get the 5 and the cycle shall continue.... Rock On!!!!

You're completely missing the point. If you spent £700 on a new 3 piece suite and your arm chair had a dent or a mark on it you'd be annoyed and want a refund or a replacement, if you spent £700 on a new dining table and there was a mark on it you'd be annoyed as well. It's the same as anything you buy, you want it to be the best quality. Whether you have a bank balance of £1 or £10m, £700 is a lot of money for a phone and it should be in pristine condition when you get it. It should perform and look aesthetically perfect not scratched or marked out of the box or have flakes of coating come off when you put it in your pocket. Why anyone would settle for anything less is mind boggling.

Real men got the white iPhone before #scuffgate

True that :D

I got a white IP5 and the missus got a black one - right out of the box she noticed some small marks on hers - mine was perfect and shows no signs of wear after a few days use without a case

Mine is perfect condition, no marks etc

Just to sort out the slight screen yellowness now am im happy

autobrightness seems rather flaky compared to the 4S too

Have booked black and white iPhone 5s at both my local stores, and I'm wondering which one to go for. The black I'd go for by preference (makes me feel like a man!) but at the same time, I'm worried about marks. At the same time, I actually prefer the back of the white model.

Insurance won't coverage cosmetic damage.

I was in the Apple store earlier today and pretty much all the blacks had marks on them.
