Well, yet again today, ANOTHER visit to OcUK.. Clocking up my weeks total spent to £1020.24...

I bought myself an Antec P180, Freezer 7 Pro and Arctic Silver thermal compound.

The P180 is a big dissapointment, the inside is cramped and it looks huge from the outside it's very deceiving. The most annoying thing is, I had to take the fan out from where the power supply sits because it didn't fit in with the type of PSU I have. Also the bezels on the front of the case are cheap and taky. However.. It just looks so flippin sexy from the outside :)..

I'd give it a 6/10 :)

i was the same mate thought the p180 was the asnwer to all my problems. turns out it was more hassle. i sold it and got a good case.

Well, I think that the air flow system it offers is very very good, my 6300 @ 3.11Ghz has been under 100% load for 30 minutes now and not risen above 58degrees. I did read lots of reviews and also asked lots of friends who also have this case :)

There are two other places you can fit the fan in the bottom bay.

1. on the other side of the mount, remove the plastic shield and screw it through the metal - advicable to use a grill aswell otherwise it may catch on the sata cables if you use the lower HD rack.

2. If you dont mind a little modding you can remove the front bracket (behind the lower hd cage) by drilling out the rivets and putting a fan there. This gives great cooling to the hard disks - this is what I did when I had a P180.

I agree it is very cramped inside and wire management is a nightmare in there but it is a good case and is one of the best looking cases around if you like the minimilist look.

I ended up hating mine. In the end, I took this forum's advice and replaced it with a wonderful, if expensive, Lian Li V1000+2.

The P180 is both over-engineered and under-engineered. For example, the removable hard disk cage is clever, but still awkward when it comes to cable attachment. The Lian Li simply turns the hard drives 90 degrees so the cable ports face the open side - no problems.

Another example, the Tricool fans are very effective, and very quiet when set on low. However, with the manual settings sited on a short wire attached to the fans, this means that you have to keep opening the case to change them - doh. Irritating.

I hope Antec have improved the quality of the door and side panels. After a year of heavy use, these tacky components were either irretrievably broken or just hanging on.

The good news is that once you've gone through the pain of setting up your system, the P180 offers a great combination of cooling performance and quietness. It's just that if you are an enthusiast, and you continually play with and upgrade your system, and you are not a weightlifter (this thing is HEAVY), you will learn to dread opening the box!

Sorry mate - just my humble opinion.

Yeh - At the moment the P180 is on my desk so i don't have to lift it to mess, and screws aint in the back for the side panel and removing the side panel is very easy i found. I'm kinda getting to like the case.. I love it from the outside, completely love it. and the performance it offers in terms of cooling is awesome.

P180:

Pretty , subtle, effective.

Scratches easily, Sides warp, bulky

HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY

did i mention the weight?
Agreed! Was even heavier than a 7 year old full atx steel server case i replaced it with!

Just got a Lian Li PC-101B and the darn things half the weight of the Antec!!! Awesome! :)
