Dissapointed....

What's the hz ratio set to in windows? is it a suitable amount for the monitor you are using? (nearly every monitor is 60hz these days so try that since you said v-sync helps it a bit it might be related to this)

60hz

in WaW, after force turning V.Sync on, the lines are still there, but they are frozen in place making them hard to see instead of them flickering. I dont want to have v.sync on though

Dont sound like v-sync tearing to me. That won't present a visible line - just a break/tear in the image. This sounds like GPU defect, and if OCUK confirmed the old one with the same symptoms (was it the same symptoms?) was broke, maybe this one is too? Production line had a bad moment?

this is a long shot, but try checking your pci slot for dust? if you don't have an air-can try blowing on it (and try not to spit) :D

Its a new system, 2 weeks old. no dust in there mate.

And yes same symptoms, and I REALLY dont want to RMA again... this is terrible, still cant find a solution

If OCuk confirmed the original card was faulty, what are the chances that there is another problem causing an identical problem? I'd say very, very unlikely. It surely must be a bad batch of cards and almost certainly the same faulty component or joint.

I assume you did the following when installing the 460:

1) Connected both power connectors to the 460
2) Disabled the onboard graphics in the BIOS
3) Uninstalled the drivers for the onboard graphics
4) Installed the correct Nvidia drivers

If you have a TV with HDMI try connecting to that and see how it looks.

Long shot but when you changed the cable to the monitor, did you change the dvi-vga adapter?

Also, did you monitor the gpu temperatures when you were running furmark/gaming?

Did everything listed

Cant test with the TV.

Is that beacause your TV doesn't have HDMI?

I'm sure you must know someone nearby who has a TV with HDMI. You could ask nicely and take your PC to try on their TV.

This would rule out any problem with the monitor cable, the monitor and the adapter.

Also, before you do that, try using the other DVI output on the graphics card.

No.

Its real-time flickering.

I do have another one bought from ebay, tried it, and it makes my screen go green.

What is wrong with my life, does everything I buy is faulty ? ffs...
