Dissapointed....

Have you tried adjusting the "clock" setting using your monitor's On Screen Display? Page A13 of the manual.

Have you tried the other DVI connector on the card?

Is your display resolution set to 1680x1050 @ 60Hz, 32 bit colour depth?

Do you get this problem only when playing games or is there when you're just on the desktop?

Did you try adjusting the "clock" setting?

What motherboard do you have?

Try a mobo bios flash if there's an updated driver. Also - something different - can you try to underclock the GPU (both core and memory) and see if it goes away. Perhaps it's some sort of instability artifact - the sort you'd see when overclocking to the limits, but maybe yours is artefacting at stock speeds cos it's basically faulty? It's a long shot. Would be really great if we could see the effect in a photo or vid.

Ill try capturing the image, once again, but im telling you its nearly impossible to see.

Anyway about BIOS update, when I download it fom ASUS website and unzip it, its a ROM file, nothing else. how would i go about updating ?

32bit WIN7

Liam, I HIGHLY doubt its a GPU issue - 2 Cards with exact same problem, no thanks!

How do I update the BIOS? All it downloaded is a ROM file.

Garonazz.....looking at the bios revisions(updates) for your board on the Asus site, I can't see any reference to fixing new g-card incompatibilities....(as there is for mine)...not that this means it would'nt fix your prob.... I would also check what revision your board actually has...(flashes up on screen at start up?)

Either way if you're wanting to flash thru windows you want the Asus update if I remember right on the same page you may have downloaded the bios...

I'd really rule out other options first tho....& at a last resort, Asus also has a forum..they may be better equipped to pinpoint your prob (IF it is a mobo/bios issue).

I asked them on the phone what was wrong with it and they said something got corupt or something, dont remember

Hold on, hold on. If that refers to the gcard. What could go, "corrupt", on a gcard? The cards bios perhaps. And what might OCuk do? re-Flash the card, perhaps and return it. But what if it wasn't the bios?

Just speculation but this, "corrupt", thing points strongly to the card's bios.

Also the guy from customer service did say the last card was corrupt. ive got no idea what to do anymore...

Identical problem, but for a different reason? Dunno mate, dunno.

There should also be available a BIOS flashing tool to use that rom with. Be very careful and follow instructions to the letter.

Put the ROM file on a USB flash drive and use the ASUS EZ flash utility in the BIOS.

See section 2.1.2 of the user manual.

As you only have a 32 bit operating system try taking 2GB of RAM out. A 32 bit operating sytem can only address 4GB in total. 2GB of RAM plus your video RAM plus an amount required for other functions takes you close to that limit.

Downloaded ASUS Update utility and got to the end, now it asks me to press 'Flash' to update, or something.

Now ive read that flashing your BIOS can void my graphics card warranty. am I safe ?

Also im not using all the RAM, in windows properties it says 3.25gb usable out of 4gb.

You're not using all the ram because you're using 32 bit windows....It won't recognise over 4 gigs & usually around your amount as I think it reserves the rest depending on your g-cards mem...(my memory is rusty here now)...you need windows 7 64 bit to recognise more that 4 gig. Hence why most people upgrading to win 7 go this route.

void your graphics?? woulda thought it may void your mobo given that's where your bios is....Sometimes a flash can go wrong & fk up your mobo...tho it's never happened to me...you takes the gamble & bite the bullet.

Don't use the Asus Update Utility. You do not want to flash the BIOS from within Windows. It can go wrong.

Use the EZ Flash from within the BIOS - much safer option.

You've got nothing to lose by taking out 2GB of RAM and see what happens.

You're not flashing the graphics card BIOS so it won't affect the warranty.

As it stands you need to try the following:
1) Update BIOS using EZ Flash not Asus Update Utility
2) Adjust the "clock" setting on your monitor
3) Try removing 2GB of RAM

If you don't fancy flashing the BIOS leave that until last.

When you've tried those things let us know the results.
