Dissapointing Chip :(

I have been trying everything i can think of to squeeze more speed out of this processor but i think its simply a bad clocker, i can only get it to 225FSB, @ 230FSB Prime95 just craps out:

This is the info on top of the chip:
ADA3700AA5BN
KABYE 0540MPMW

Are these known as bad clockers? because it wont budge past 225FSB, nearly maxed out vcore in BIOS for my MSI K8N SLI Platinum motherboard. Temperatures arent an issue so it cant be that, rest of my system is as follows:

MSI K8N Platinum
AMD 3700+ San Diego
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2
GeForce 7800GT
Enermax Noisetaker 535W EG565AX-VE(W) SFMA ATX2.0 SLI Compliant PSU

Im running the memory @ 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6 2.75v

Any replies would be really appreciated because im tempted just to get another chip atm as i was thinking about going back into watercooling as i have all the stuff but its pointless if i dont have a chip that will produce the goods!

bit of a pants chip imo :P, gonna try increasing vcore a bit more but i dont wanna go too high with it as this overclock will be used all the time

ok here are the results:

CPU @ 11 x 240FSB
Memory - 2 - 2 - 3 - 5 on a 166 divider @ 2.75v
XFX 7800GT - Core @ 480mhz / Memory @ 1.1ghz
Super PI 1M - 33 seconds
3dmark 2005 - 7699
3dmark 2006 - 3906 (CPU Score - 1018)

Pretty sure its stable, no errors in Prime etc. Full load = 44c

Is this likely to be the max i can get out of this chip and are the above results about right for my system ?

Prime stable @ 245FSB so 2.7ghz, thats a 500mhz overclock for my 3700 san diego so not too bad :), tried 250FSB but prime found errors quickly. Do you think this is the absolute chips limit or can watercooling allow me to go higher? i mean temps aint high at all with my Freezer 64, full load @ 42c

nice mate, im running my chip @ 1.425v + 6.6%, bit dissapointed with volt options for MSI boards, might have to get a DFI next time. im gonna experiment with memory timings because it seems silly that i get prime errors when the memory is only running @ 192mhz 2-2-3-5 166 divider, must be an MSI thing as i was able to get higher slackening the timings

Maxed @ 245FSB, wont go any higher and i dont wanna put max vcore (1.45v + 10%) when im on air tbh, not sure if i could get more out of it with my watercooling anyway

seems stable @ 250FSB = 2.75ghz, nearly running max volts tho but still only @ 42c full load ... wish there was a way to get more volts from this motherboard as then i would be tempted to use watercooling

prime errors after an hour @ 250fsb so im just gonna leave it @ 2.7ghz 245FSB on the 166 memory divider, running at 1.425v + 6.6% as its just about 100% stable at this, thx for the help guys ... i might sell this chip and a few other components and upgrade for either conroe or get a DFI LanParty motherboard and an opteron and get my watercooling re-installed and overclock the t*ts off it :)

:) nice mate, im kinda happy with mine too, i can certainly tell the difference in speed between this and stock, games for instance seem much smoother but the thing about me is i always wanna go that little bit further, im never happy hehe

CPU-Z is reporting incorrectly tbh as i have it @ 1.45v + 6.6% which is about 1.56v or there abouts, tried it at 260FSB but it crapped out ... will try 1.45v + 10% shortly but i really dont wanna run my chip at this voltage even on watercooling, i just dont like putting that much volts through it
