Am wondering from you guys that have done it.... what is it like? Is it difficult?

I really fancy a go at re-painting/colour scheming a case if I manage to pick one up to work on.

Just looking for advice/guidance - whether its a swine or not, and worth doing?

In terms of tools... just a drill and rivot gun is all that's needed?

Thanks!

Yeah it's easy enough, just drill them out with the right size bit, then use a pop rivet gun and the right rivets.

Rivets are usually soft metal so they don't take much effort to do.

Sorry about jumping onto your thread Andy, but I'm looking to find out what size rivets I should buy.

I'm seeing dimensions for black rivets listed as 2.4 X 6mm, and I'm slightly confused as to whether the 6mm refers to the length of the actual black rivet piece, or the diameter of the head.

Does the length of the rivet body make any difference at all?

I'm assuming the 2.4 is referring to the steel shaft so that would mean that I require a (roughly) 2.5mm hole in the case. Also 2.4mm seems quite small so I'm wondering if I should be looking at the 3.2mm versions.

Do rivets vary in size according to case, or can anyone tell me what size I'll need for an Antec 300?

Any expert advice, or experience, would be welcome. :D

The most critical is the the head dimension and the grip distance so guessing it is those measurements. From that I would guess the 6mm to be the head size once riveted (compressed or whatever the real term is) and the 2.4mm is the maximum grip distance.

If you cant get black ones though, I painted everything and then used normal silver rivets and just applied quick layer of paint of them to make them black.

I'm sure most cases use the 3.2mm rivets. If you're unsure you could always email antec and ask, or drill out one of the rivets cleanly and measure the hole diameter.
