Dissertation Questionnaire help

Worked third time!

Did you have any guidance in constructing your questionnaire? To me it feels a lot like most under grad questionnaires in that it was created from a pre conceived point with a particular answer in mind. It is a really common issue with questionnaires and I wish universities would spend more time teaching people how to do it properly if they expect them to be used as a basis for research.

Good! and no not much guidance was given, each student has got a supervisor but they offer little to no help in my experience. Might just be my supervisor. But then again they're only allowed to give so much help as they will be one of the markers.

In regards to the questionnaire itself, there is a lot of evidence and reports related to the factors affecting trust in e-commerce, but a lot of them are at least 10 years or so old. So im hopign that the factors or peoples perceptions may have changed over the last decade given the vast amount of people who now shop online.

Done!

I'm thinking about what my dissertation topic will be in yr 3 (currently yr 1) which will be in some way related to web technologies - you've given me something to think about ;-)

Thanks for all the replies!

Its quite a good topic, plenty of information to write about which helps when doing the lit review. I think a good dissertation could be written in regards to paypal and trust as I havent seen many papers, if any, related to it.

Also done, though I do think the question set was very limited (and limiting). A lot of the time I couldn't actually answer the phrasing of the question with the scale provided, so had to choose neither agree nor disagree.

I don't know what course you're undertaking, but isn't it generally customary to have an introductory (ethics committee inspired) stanza outlining the research, participatory requirements, data processing and retention information, name and institution of the researcher and details of right to withdrawal? Just asking as someone concerned about the privacy of online data transactions. :p

ha yeah all that all of that is rather customary, not going to lie its been a rush job, and have had very little direction in regards to the whole thing. But all data will be deleted at the end of this week once collated, and all results will be anonymous, although there isnt really any data which could prove useful to anyone unless there wanting to know what people think about trust in e-commerce :D
