Distance between Cooler and GPU?

Hi all,

Is there any recommended safe distance that the edge of a cpu cooler should be from the back of a gpu card?

Am considering a mATX build and I know I can fit one of the large coolers like a Noctua nh-d14 or Alpenfohn K2 but wondered how close is too close?

Think you just have to be sensible and not have them touching, also if the heatsink/fan is facing downwards looking at the top of the GFX card then give it enough room to easily draw cooler air in.

if you have adequate airflow do not worry, i mean i have crossfire 5850 with a nh-d14 and although it is tight (which to be honest can be annoying at times) it works fine and keeps everything cool.

Make sure you can close your case lid with it in.
