Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could advise on an issue I have, and apologies for the long wall of text

I purchased an online course in December 2015. This was sold to me on the premise that 1. There would be assessment centres in Northern Ireland, that would allow me to complete the course. And I have proof of the exact location that I was told it would be 2. That there would be unlimited re-sits 3. That there would be no time limit and I could work at my own pace.

After phone calls in Feb and May to check when there would be an upcoming assessment day, I was advised to check the website for all upcoming dates (which I have done every month) and as of yet there has been no dates.

After a few months of checking there was still no sign of dates in NI, a friend of mine contacted them as he would be interested in the same only to be told that they currently do not cover NI.

I then sent an email asking the same things as a potential buyer, only to be told that they did not cover NI and that there was a 2 year window to complete the course.

I replied stating that I had already purchased this course and could they advise as to what is going on. And I received a reply only stating that they have had it confirmed that they will be offering assessment days in NI, however after back and forward they can only state that there are now in the process of trying to get somewhere for NI sorted and that they wont be offering me a refund.

TBH i know I should have just paid more and went local (which I will do when i get the debacle sorted), but I find it unacceptable that it looks like I am basically at their mercy now in regards to being able to complete.

For example if there turns out to be only one or two days over the upcoming year (compared to the monthly that they offer in England, Scotland & Wales) it could very well mean that I may not be able to attend these dates due to work commitments. And the full year that I have been waiting for at least one date just shows that there hasnt been a lot of people taking them up on their offer this side of the water.

Would putting a claim in with the credit card provider be the next port of call in this instance? Or should I try and reason with them over the course of a few emails again?
