Anyone know any cheap places to buy this from? Last time I bought it was from an online store and it only worked out cheap as I was buying it with another order. I'm planning on redoing a W/C loop tonight and will need to refill it.

I know Halfords does Deionised water, But i'm told not to use that?

Tesco's or Sainsburys would be ideal, They're both 5 minutes walk away but I doubt they do it.

Hmm, I always thought De-Ionised still had the gunk in, But wouldn't react with anything.

If its safe to use though, Ill just get some. £3 for 5 litres W/staff discount is bloody cheap!

Just use something like PT Nuke with it google "PT Nuke" can't link to site as its competitor, couple of drops of that in it , or a silver chain in the res, and ur all set.

Distilled is slightly better but we are talking less than .01% in terms of cooling potential
Distilled also has slightly less 'stuff' in it - especial living stuff.

but a kill coil or nuke will sort that out.

get which ever is available - dentist and aquatic store (marine tanks) may sell you de-ionised + reverse osmosis for a quid (or free - take a bottle) if you ask nicely.
hospitals or school with science labs or homeopathist may help with double distilled or microfiltration water sources (but you'll need a friend on the inside or +20 charisma)

I've already got some PT Nuke so that'll make life easier. Halfords will be the easiest option for me, Im at work there tonight.

Cheers for the help everyone, Saved me a bit of money :D

Oh if you have a condensing tumble drier or a dehumidifyer - you've made your own distilled for free :D

Remember to boil it to kill any beasties that may be collecting in your white goods reservoir
or clean reservour then do some washing - the wife/GF/mother will be pleased - and leave you in peace to build your loop :D

Not sure you can get stuff just by being charismatic... a +20 bonus might handle it though. You'd be able to walk in and say "hi, I have +20 charisma, give me some distilled water!"

Great idea to get from school science labs, since you won't need much for a cooling loop, unless you have a huge reservoir. They usually have huge tubs of it for experiments. Try going back to your old school if your old teachers are still there, helps a lot.

Im still at school, Well Sixth Form. I tried asking and they just said no. We use small bottles of it for experiments, But they must only be about 200ml. 'Accidentally putting them in my bag' isn't really an option because I can almost guarantee I'll get caught since theres 5 people in my class.

Still £3 for 5 Litres will do me nicely.

I believe that batteries(for cars/motorbikes) use de ionised water

so I don't know why school, ahh I see....get the stuff cheaper :D

you can use deinoized water you can use ethoir, I have been doing homework :D

just need something in it to kill off living stuff, that might include iodine :O

At a sixform collage I'd ask the lab technicans - if one of them is an old aerospace mech your in with a good chance (might learn something too)
But chatting up a dental nurse / reception may be easier - or just spend £3 :D

Batteries use de-ionised
schools use distilled (or better)

Im quite happy with spending £3 haha, It'll last me forever.

Just redone my loop actually, Had a little distilled lying around but didn't think it was going to be enough. Turns out it was just enough.

Will keep all these suggestions in mind when It comes to topping up though. Might be handy just to get a little from each place and build a collection up :D
