I am getting distorted sounds in Windows, but only in certain media files and games. Some are ok. dxdiag tests all sound fine. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, reinstalling direct x, disabling onboard sound and trying a PCI soundcard (old soundblaster live), turned down hardware acceleration, and even tried setting my cpu clock speed to stock, all to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix it? Tempted to order an X-Fi card but somehow I don't think that will fix the problem neither.
