Hi, I hope you can help me! I have just replaced a bit of the heat sink/cooling on my HP TX2050ea laptop.

I replaced the thermal paste as well. Now when I turn the laptop on all is fine, boots into Windows 7 no problem.

But the tray (bottom right) graphics distort and jump around, with a browser open a bit of the browser in that area distorts too.

But if I play iplayer full screen, there is no distortion at all, anywhere on the screen! Same if I logout, the login screen is perfect!

What have I done to it and is it fixable?
Many Thanks

I get that if i havn't installed my drivers properly or if i overclock too much.

Could be a heat issue maybe? Have you tried re seating the heatsink to make sure etc?

Thanks for the replies. Have tried taking it apart again and it looks fine, reseated it just to make sure and checked any connections, all was fine. Still got the problem though. Uninstalled and let windows update find drivers for me and that hasn't solved it either.

GPU-Z gives me a temp of 43.0 on battery, up to 50-60 on power. Which is no lower than before my modifications, which means they didn't do anything!
