Just after a few ideas with this little conundrum.
I look after a company that currently uses Microsoft's DFSv2 across 4 No. Windows Server 2003 R2 servers located in 2 offices, 2 servers in each office.
The main problem they have is that DFS doesn't do file locking, which when two people open the same file can cause all sorts of problems. I've looked at PeerSync, which does have a locking mechanism but by the time you add it all up, bitlevel replication and multithreading this solution results in a bill of some $14,000USD
So I really need to consider other optionsl. I'm wondering how Sharepoint might scale across multiple servers and if the checking out facility might be of benefit here. I would need a third party utility as these guys use AutoCAD quite extensively.
Any other options, opinions are greatfuly considered.
