Just outta curiousity does anyone here run distributed.net i'm not sure its as popular as it once was but it was the one that started distributed computing off. If anyone does run it i'd be interested to know what keyrate they get on thier machine(s).

Incidently OCUK have a team on there but the stats are currently down atm.

Hey thanks for your reply. Was talking about the RC5-72 project, sorry i didn't make that very clear as there is also the OGR-P2 poject. Apparently its using core #6 (go 2-pipe). I am running it on an Athlon XP 2800+ with 1 gig of DDR 3200 ram. I don't think this makes a diff but I am running windows 98 at the moment, although XP should be around the same speed. I beleive i could probably achieve even higher speeds once i get to grips with all the settings in the bios and maybe get a bit of overclocking going.

It seems that the Athlon XP's perform very well running distributed.net which is one of the reasons i chose to run it as opposed to other projects.

Was it Distributed that had cash prizes or is my memory failing me in my old age? Do they still ahve them?

It certainly does. The prize of $10,000 is offered by RSA labs to distributed.net. $1000 goes to the indivdual who found the key, $1000 to the team members. $6000 to a non profit organisation and $2000 to distributed.net for te maintance of thier servers etc.

It also tells you the probablity of each member winning the prize, i'll let you know what mine is one the stats get sorted.
