Hi Guys,

I have an area in my house (Extension) that is terrible for getting a wifi signal. Its weird because its fine in the rest of the house but not in 2 rooms. So I have a wired connection to the room and it has my PC In it with a AC Wifi NIC that isn't used. Can I use the wifi card as a wireless access point for the network to distribute the internet connection?

Any help would be appreciated.

You can. Google 'windows share wifi' and there are plenty of guides.

It does mean that the PC has to be left on for the wireless to be available. I'd stick a router configured as an access point onto the end of the cable instead.

Yeah I thought about doing that. I have a spare Netgear Router with gigabit so I might get that plugged in. It has DD-WRT on the router and looking at the website it was a little confusing how to configure it.
