Been thinking last few days. Want to start saving electricity and debating if I should turn off my ipcop of which is a dell gx260 and put in a wrt54g with dd-wrt which I already have spare. It's not the gl model but still supports de-wrt.

How does the firewall ok dd-wrt/tomato compare to ipcop?

Suppose best way to see if it would be fine for you is to look at the features of IPCop that you use that aren't available on the DD-WRT/Tomato firmware and decide if you can live without them.

A few of my friends are running WRT54GL's with Tomato and have no issues with them, and its generally considered to be a stable and capable router/software combination.
